After the procedure

Immediately after the procedure, the patient, already awake, is transported to his room. About 30 minutes after the procedure, a chest x-ray (kp x-ray) is taken.

If in the control chest x-ray everything is as it should be - an unbent port catheter, and the tip of the port catheter is near the junction of the superior vena cava and the right atrium of the heart, we consider the goal achieved. And this is almost always the case. From this point on, you can eat, drink and arrange to go home. At this time, a hospital information sheet (discharge) is prepared, which will be given to the patient shortly thereafter.

The port is not a contraindication to imaging tests such as CT or MRI scans.
